Cheese Pudding

November 21, 2004

by Kit Cassingham

When I was in college the dorm cafeteria served this, calling it Cheese Souffle, with strawberry sauce on top. I don't think they served it for breakfast, but I think it would be great!

½lb cubed sharp cheddar cheese
½t salt
1t paprika
4 bread slices
3 eggs
1c milk
butter

Preheat oven to 325 degrees.

Butter bread well and cut into cubes.
Beat eggs, add milk, salt and paprika.
Stir in cheese and bread. Pour into buttered casserole, cook for 40 minutes or until brown and bubbly.

Cool 10-15 minutes before serving.

Top with warm strawberry puree as you serve it.

Comments

This sounds good and easy... I bet it would taste good with warm chunky applesauce or warmed apple pie filling or maybe pears
