From "Ask Kit!":
Q: My family wants to build a B&B. We have young children so we want to promote it as a family/outdoor/activity focused place to stay. We want to build in the countryside on a large and spacious family owned property that will allow for various outdoor activities. Can you tell me of some B&B`s that have successfully used this as their niche? We want to focus ourselves as you suggest. Are there others who have travelled this road before us so that we can learn from them?
A: I don't know many who have done a family-friendly B&B, but I know there are several. Just N Trails in Wisconsin is one I do know; and they've done very well. Google for family-friendly inns and see what you find.

he bed and breakfast / cabin idea is becoming more popular for a lot of reasons. For families its a nice hybrid. Here is one in our area that is quite popular for families http://www.catharinecottages.com .
It's sort of the family friendly version of ours, which is purely couples only. _________________ Steve Wirt Wine Country Cabins Bed and Breakfast in the Finger Lakes and Inngenious Bed and Breakfast Website Promotion

Hmmmmm ... for $5.95, I'll furnish guests with an "efficiency" cabin that consists of a large cardboard refrigerator box laying on its side in the back yard.

Make sure it has a certificate of occupancy, running water, and a working smoke detector.
