by Kit Cassingham

Hi all ,
I am a new inkeeper in France and i want promote my site on Internet by myself without using any commercial site.
Thats's why i think about an inkeeper exchange webring of our sites. It's good for results on searchs engines to have quality links about your activity.

Have a look at my pages and tell me if you like the idea.
Only US page have an inkeeper site for now in the international area. You will find more sites in the french area (french text) .

Some policies for web sites i will agree on my site
-free
-no adds
-individual inkeeper (no more than 5 rooms)
-partner's page free of banners

Interesting idea you have there. Too bad you don't have the French B&B inns available in English and other languagues for those traveling to France who aren't fluent in French. I think you'd increase the value for everyone by having translations.

Why are you limiting the number of rooms to 5?

Good luck!

Hi euwe and welcome to The B&B Lady's blog,

Your idea is a good one. As it grows it will take a lot of your free time.
Traffic wise it will be hard for you to compete with the big commercial sites. They are just better optimized and have lots more link power.

Scalability is the big problem, in order for your site to be of value to travelers as a worldwide site, it needs a lot more B&B's listed, but in order to do that you either need to automate your process or you need to hire people to help you keep up, which means your site won't be free.
Too avoid the scalability problem you may want to narrow your focus. Perhaps narrow it to just France or maybe even narrow it to a specific region of france or maybe a specific niche for france (like wineries or history or art). Then you can keep the numbers manageable and more likely to well in search engines and provide a value that is different from the bigger commercial sites.

Kits suggestion is a good one for maybe prividing alternate translations, this would also require you to narrow your focus in order to keep up.

Good luck.
