Mystery nights, scavenger hunts, girls' weekend,

May 8, 2006

The number of ways you can promote your bed and breakfast is unlimited. Marketing can be fun for you and your guests.

raid-the-fridge weekends are all fun things I've done or wanted to do, at other B&B's throughout the country.
Ghost hunting, exploring "secret" rooms of the Inn, ya ya ya are fun ideas to promote in off season OR in season, depending on your occupancy.

Slumber parties, sneaking out...y'all get my drift.
Just some ideas I'd like to see at the B&B where I work.
These activities can be done without trashing the Inn.
Behave!

I hadn't considered several of those activities before. They sound like fun.

One thing I think that needs to be considered when arranging special events is filling your rooms when they don't fill naturally. If weekends are you busy part of the week, holding those events on the weekend doesn't make sense to me. However, if weekends in general, or during some parts of the year, are slow then special events make lots of sense.

Doing special events during the week requires a slightly different approach perhaps because people will be taking time off from work to attend or participate. Perhaps packages are in order for the busy person who needs to unwind and refuel.

Sounds as if you have lots of great ideas. Keep it up!
