Pricing - to quote or not to quote

What is the best way to quote your room rates? With our without the tax rate? There are lots of opinions on this topic.

Dragon, here.
Our hotel room sales tax just jumped up on May 1st. (I'll get exact amount)
Anyhoo...do any of you folks quote the room prices INCLUDING tax?
Remember, I am just an employee, yet I think given the hefty hike in room tax, it might be a good idea to quote with tax included.

Dragon, I never quoted the price with the tax. I told people that tax was extra; those who wanted to know the number would ask, but most didn't.
People mostly understand taxes have nothing to do with your business. They may not like the amount they are paying, but they won't be mad at you.
