scam operation

Hi everyone
well since I am a new bed and breakfast this scam had me excited a man by the name of Dr. Mark Ellis from the Maharashta Cooperation India emailed me.
He said that he needed a quote for 7 dr.s who were coming here for a symposium for 17 nights in may. long story short when i quoted him 9,837.00 or arround there then they said i got the bid and they would be contacting me. saying they were being sponsored by a christian organization and that organization was paying for it. Now today I get the letter that they want my personal info to send me 15,000.00 and i am supposed to take the additional 5,000 and get a western union check to send to a third party rental car agency in New York. Well my gut instinct told me this was too good to be true and i started reading the postings on scams and there it is.
On the advise of Kit i called the local sherrifs office and they said that since this was coming from overseas most likley (which i am sure) that they probably could do nothing but that i should report the scam to the fbi.
So here is where you report those scams too. IC3.gov
I was just hoping to catch this scam in progress by getting someone involved and perform a sting on them (see i watch the movies Laughing )
So beware
Peggy

Thanks for the warning Peggy. These scams are all pretty similar. They get you to drop your guard by distracting you with the promise of lots of money. I always get a laugh when they say that a big conference or medical convention is coming to my area... my area is really really small.
